Motivation and Scope
My current research interests are the interactions between climate and environmental change and human societies during the latest part of the Quaternary, in particular through the study of vegetation evolution and fire history. I use a multi-proxy approach, including sediment composition and geochemistry, pollen and charcoal, and compare environmental to archaeological records. My fieldwork is presently focused on semi-arid Jordan and the Upper Rhine Valley.
