As a Quaternary geologist from Salzburg I am interested in the environmental impact of alpine glaciations, and notably in overdeepened structures and their sedimentary filling. The main topic of my current research is the investigation of Early-Stage Quaternary Overdeepenings in Oberschwaben as a complement and expansion to the ICDP-DOVE framework. I investigate mainly high-quality drill cores with a sedimentological, geochronological and geotechnical approach. In former times, I have done some research on the Salzach Valley Overdeepening near the City of Salzburg. In the course of this research I built a 3D bedrock model of the Salzach Valley out of extruded hard-foam for the purpose of exhibition. During the last years I have worked as a geotechnical engineer in Austria. |
