Motivation and Scope
My research emphasis is on the response of terrestrial sedimentary systems to climate change and human impact during the Quaternary. In particular, I am investigating the erosion and depositional history of the Alps and environmental developments on the Arabian Peninsula. A special interest is on geochronology, specifically luminescence dating. Present projects focus on glacial over-deepending in the Alps, fluvial dynamics in the Upper Rhine Graben, coastal research in the Baltic region, and the development of luminescence dating.
