My current research focuses on revisiting the eruption chronology of the Chaîne des Puys volcanic province in the French Massif Central. In particular, my doctoral project aims to implement recent technological and methodological developments in luminescence dating to overcome issues frequently associated with volcanic samples (e.g. anomalous fading). Additionally, I am reconstructing the thermal evolution of samples through geochemical analysis in order to identify relationships between a sample's thermal history and its luminescence behavior. As an end result, I hope to provide a revised chronology of the Chaîne des Puys and a general protocol that can be followed to identify the best luminescence dating method for volcanic samples based on their mineralogy and geochemistry.
